A Life Saved at MGR Chennai Railway Station .
Real Lifesaving Begins with Knowledge, Confidence & Immediate Action I, E. Parthasarathy, Founder & Passionate Trainer of Raksha NGO, had the opportunity to save a life at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station. An unknown elderly person, aged around 60+, suddenly collapsed unconscious on the railway platform. While passing by, I noticed he was in a critical emergency condition. Without hesitation, I immediately assessed the victim and started administering high-quality CPR. At the same time: I effectively engaged bystanders to immediately call emergency services. Another person was instructed to elevate the victim’s legs to improve blood flow to the heart and brain. Continuous CPR was performed without delay. After the 6th cycle of CPR — within approximately 3 minutes — the victim regained consciousness. The people around were shocked, emotional, and applauded the lifesaving effort. Emergency medical services arrived after around 13 minutes. I clearly explained: What we observed The victim’s condition The CPR and first aid provided The complete response timeline The Lesson from This Incident ❤️ During a sudden cardiac emergency: Immediate recognition saves time High-quality CPR saves lives Effective bystander involvement creates impact Proper use of emergency services bridges survival The difference between life and death is often decided within the first few minutes. This incident is shared to inspire everyone to learn lifesaving skills and develop the confidence to act during emergencies. “Don’t wait for a hero — become a trained lifesaver for society.”
